Hi, I'm Dr. Rush

I'm an OB/GYN. An author. A podcast host. And for a long time, I was also someone who didn't know how to walk away from things that were quietly breaking me.

My Story

Like a lot of high achievers, I built my identity on pushing through. On showing up no matter what it cost me. For years, that worked — until it didn't.

I stayed in environments longer than I should have. I explained myself to people who benefited from my silence. I tolerated things I would never have told a patient, a friend, or my own daughter to tolerate.

Not because I couldn't see the signs. But because I hadn't yet learned to trust them.

That experience — across multiple healthcare systems, leadership dynamics, and organizational cultures — became the foundation for my book, my podcast, and the work I now do helping other professionals recognize the difference between growth and erosion.

Knowing when to walk away is not failure. It is awareness, strength, and self-respect.

Speaking

I speak to healthcare organizations, professional associations, and conference audiences on physician burnout, moral injury, workplace culture, and what it actually takes to leave a role — or an identity — with dignity.
